Custom IPC (“we”) designs and installs custom firmware for the digital instrument cluster of 2015 and newer Ford Mustangs. This policy covers customipc.com, our orders and installs, and the Custom IPC Designer for ChatGPT and Claude (our connector at api.customipc.com/mcp). We are not affiliated with Ford Motor Company.
What we collect
- Account: your email, name and phone number, and a password (stored only as a secure hash). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and verified email from Google.
- Orders and installs: your car's details (model, VIN, the state the car is in), the cluster options and design you chose, your install time, how to reach you for the video call, notes you add, and for mail-in orders the address we ship the cluster back to and any tracking numbers.
- Payments: handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number; we keep the payment's status and, for a mail-in backup card, its brand and last four digits.
- Designs: designs you save, including pictures, fonts and start-up clips you add, and videos we make of your design on a real cluster.
- The Designer for ChatGPT and Claude: what your assistant sends to our tools while you design: your car choices, colours, text, font names, picture or clip links, drawings (SVG) and files you upload through the private upload link. We do not receive your chat history or anything else from your assistant.
- Visits: Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views without cookies. Our servers keep short-lived technical logs (such as IP addresses and request times) for security and to fix problems.
Why we use it
- To build and install the firmware you order, schedule and confirm your install, and contact you about it.
- To take payment (a card hold, charged at the install) and, for mail-in orders, to ship your cluster back.
- To let you design, save and reopen designs, and to show you previews.
- To send emails about your order, keep the service secure and prevent abuse (for example, rate limits on the design tools).
We do not sell your personal information, use it for advertising, or build profiles of you.
Who receives it
- Stripe (payments), Resend (order emails), Shippo and the carrier (mail-in shipping labels), Google Firebase (Google sign-in, if you use it), Cloudflare (website hosting, security and analytics) and our server host. Each receives only what it needs to do that job.
- Your AI assistant (OpenAI's ChatGPT or Anthropic's Claude) receives what our design tools send back to it: text and pictures of the whole cluster. Their own privacy policies cover your chats.
- We may share information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Designer for ChatGPT and Claude: a design in progress is kept in memory only during your conversation (a paused draft for up to 2 hours); uploads for 1 hour; a design you save waits for you to open its link for 7 days, and unopened saved designs are deleted after 30 days.
- Demo videos: when you or your assistant asks for a demo, the design is made into a short video and four pictures on our own server, by software that has no internet connection. Anyone with the demo's link can watch it. Demos and the design file behind them are deleted after 30 days.
- Saved designs: until you delete them in your account.
- Orders: as long as needed for warranty and tax records.
- Account: until you ask us to delete it.
- Technical logs: for a limited time, for security and troubleshooting.
Your choices
- See, rename and delete your saved designs in your account.
- Mark a design confidential so it is never shown in our gallery.
- Ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it or to delete your account: email support@customipc.com.
- Remove the Custom IPC connector from ChatGPT or Claude at any time in that app's settings.
Children
Our services are not for children under 13, and orders are for vehicle owners aged 18 or over.
